To All Rising U15 Boys Families:
As the recently contracted Age Group Director for U15-18 Boys, I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify the process moving forward and provide the definitive plan for this age group. There has been significant activity over the last month as the club has been thoughtfully putting together the plan for the rising U15s. This email serves to address any questions or concerns that families may have regarding the plans for this age group.
First, this is a critical transition year for players who are interested in continuing to play travel soccer.
Second, the new structure for this age group maximizes the opportunities for players based on their skills and level of commitment.
Third, we have significantly upgraded the level of coaches and trainers (with "A" licensed coaches including several current college assistant coaches), and while this process has taken longer than expected, we are working through the final contracts while the coaches are busy wrapping up their existing commitments.
The U15 age group will consist of four teams:
- MPS '93 Celtic Green (Region 1)
- MPS '93 Celtic White (NCSL Div 1)
- MYS '93 Celtic Gold (NCSL Div 3)
- MYS '93 Celtic Silver (NCSL Div 4) - based on availability of players
In addition, the current MYS '93 Ice will continue to be a parent-coached ODSL team.
Below is the finalized tryout schedule for the age group. All players who attend tryouts will be considered for positions on all teams. Players are encouraged to attend as many tryouts as their schedule.
• Tuesday, June 10th: 5:30 - 7:00 pm - LP2 - Green / White Team Tryout
• Thursday, June 12th: 4:30 - 6:00 pm - MYS Field - Entire Age Group (players will be separated during tryouts into selected groups)
• Friday, June 13th: 4.30 - 6:00 pm - Capital One North - Entire Age Group (players will be separated during tryouts into selected groups)
• Monday, June 16th: 5:30 - 7:00 pm - LP2 - Entire Age Group (players will be separated during tryouts into selected groups) - including full field scrimmages
• Wednesday, June 18th: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm - LP2 - By Invitation Only
Players should arrive at least 15 minutes before each tryout ready to practice (water, shin guards, cleats, balls, etc).

Evaluations during tryouts will be augmented by input from current coaches and from other coaches who have attended games and practices. Additional factors will also be considered including commitment level, on-field behavior, and desire to learn. Please do not speak directly with coaches during the tryouts. Players will be notified about their placement throughout the process, and final player placement will be made no later than Friday, June 20. As players are selected, they will be notified and are expected to commit within 24 hours to ensure that the process continues to flow smoothly.
Please note that additional tryouts/practices for each team may be scheduled once the initial tryouts have been held.
