Welcome to McLean Premier Soccer (MPS)
McLean Youth Soccer has long been recognized as a top club in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
With the creation of McLean Premier Soccer (MPS), a "club within a club" with a full team of professional
coaches and trainers appropriate to each age and gender for our strongest and most committed soccer players,
we now offer some of the best training available to these talented players starting at the U9 level though
college placement.
MPS Technical Director Curt Onalfo, U.S. Men's National Team Assistant Coach, and his
top soccer trainers have designed our program to be kid safe and fun, with an academy approach that offers
age appropriate technique and skill-based training, including fitness training as well.
Meet the MPS Technical Director
MYS has named Curt Onalfo as the MPS Technical Director. Curt is highly regarded as one of
the most accomplished and successful coaches in the nation, currently serving as the
Assistant Coach of the US Men's National team under Bruce Arena. Curt brings extraordinary
credentials to our MPS and travel-training program.
MPS provides a critical advantage for aspiring McLean youth soccer players.
This premier league gives all of its player’s extremely beneficial functional training through a
top-flight coaching staff. Players get advanced instruction in footwork, finishing skills,
defensive technique, speed training, fitness and goal keeping. MPS coaches are highly
skilled and experienced professionals with USSF "A" or "B" licenses, or their equivalent.
These veteran leaders have extensive coaching and playing experience at multiple levels of soccer.
This new program has the potential to greatly improve the travel soccer experience for players
and parents alike. Parents who have children selected to play in this high level program
will share in a great amount of enthusiasm arising from such an honor. And, they will have
every opportunity to be involved in numerous off-the-field activities.
McLean Travel Soccer is already the largest program in Fairfax County and its boys,
and particularly its girls, programs are among the most highly rated in Virginia and the East Coast.
This benefits the players in a number of ways, including potential reduced player/parent costs due
to increased corporate sponsorship opportunities, an increased ability to obtain and
maintain appropriate playing facilities, and an increase in playing opportunities for
former MPS players at higher levels of competitive soccer nationwide
(High School and College Varsity teams and beyond). Already, leading local companies,
including HITT Construction and the Resource Bank, have signed on as major corporate sponsors.
